How to Close the Blinds With Two Sets of Strings

Vertical blinds are primarily used to cover glass patio and balcony doors. The blinds keep out light while sliding open and closed so that the glass doors can be accessed. Unlike horizontal blinds, many versions of vertical blinds come with two sets of cords instead of the more traditional single cord and plastic wand combination. The blinds are controlled by the two sets of cords: one for opening and closing the slats, and the other for pulling the blinds horizontally back and forth along their track.

Instructions

Grip the nylon cords on the far left of the blinds. These control the blinds horizontally along the set of doors. Pull down on the outermost cord to send the blinds along their track to cover the doors entirely. Stop pulling once they reach their destination.

    • 2

Walk over to the right-hand side of the blinds, on the other side of their track.

    • 3

Reach up and grasp the nylon cords that control the slats. Pull down on the outermost cord to close the slats and prevent any light from entering the room. Stop pulling on the cord once the blinds are closed.
