How to Kill Weevils Organically

Weevils are known as pantry pests and thrive on stored foods, grains and seeds. The pests ruin food and continue to multiply if you do not kill them. Weevils do not sting or bite and they cannot compromise the structure of a home. However, they are a nuisance and need to be eradicated to protect your food supply. Since the pests live in the kitchen, use organic methods to control them.

Salvage foods that you do not wish to throw away by sterilizing them. Place the food in the freezer at zero degrees Fahrenheit for four or five days or heat food in the oven in a shallow pan at 130 degrees for 30 minutes to kill the eggs, larvae and weevil insects.

Remove all food items from the kitchen pantry and cabinets. Clean the surfaces with a vacuum cleaner to remove any eggs, larvae or insects. Focus on small cracks and crevices when you clean the cabinets. Throw the contents of the vacuum cleaner outside into the trash.
