How to Make the Hot Tub Water Smell Good

Keeping your hot tub clean is vital to maintaining its condition and preventing the spread of germs and bacteria. Chlorine-based products are typically used to keep a hot tub clean and sanitary, but these products leave an unpleasant, bleach-like smell. If you want to make your time spent in the hot tub a bit more spa-like, make a more aromatic fragrance to keep your hot tub smelling fresh and appealing.

Chamomile essential oil helps you relax.

Place 10 drops of chamomile essential oil into the glass bottle. Add five drops of orange essential oil to complement the chamomile.

Close the glass bottle with a tight-fitting lid or cap. Gently shake or swirl the bottle to mix the ingredients.

    • 4

Store the bottle in a dark location where it will not get too warm, such as a pantry or basement. Allow the hot tub fragrance to sit for two weeks before using it.

Add 1/4 cup of your homemade hot tub fragrance to the hot tub before using it to create a subtle fragrance. Pour in more fragrance, 1 tablespoon at a time, to intensify the smell.
