Make a loop at the end of the yarn and put the hook end of a size H crochet hook through the loop. Pull the yarn gently until the loop is snug on the hook.
Place the crochet hook next to the wire hanger on one shoulder of the hanger. Hold the hook on the right side of the hanger with the yarn going over the top toward the left. Push the hook underneath the hanger wire and grab a loop of yarn. Pull the loop back. You now have two loops on the hook.
Reach over the top of the wire and grab a loop with the hook. Pull the loop through one of the loops on the hook. You still have two loops on the hook.
Go over the wire again to grab another loop. Pull this loop through both loops on the hook. You have one loop left on the hook and one crochet stitch done on the hanger.
Push the hook underneath the wire to grab a loop, pulling it around, and make another crochet stitch in the same manner. Continue crocheting until you have gone all the way around the outside of the hanger.
Crochet all the way up the hook part of the hanger until you reach the ending tip that goes on the closet bar. Cut off the yarn, leaving a 3-inch tail. Pull the tail through the loop left on the hook to secure the stitching.
Wrap the yarn tail around the hanger hook and secure it with a dot of craft glue. Allow the glue to dry completely before you use the hanger.
