How to Cork a Cabinet

Cork tiles are a versatile organizational tool. Although mostly used in offices and cubicles, you can creatively add them to many areas of your home. Adding stylish cork tiles to the inside of your kitchen cabinet doors is just one way to incorporate them into your home. Mount the tiles with self adhesive backing strips included with the kit. You can pin your shopping list, recipes, little love notes to the cook or any other note of paper that would ordinarily clutter your kitchen space.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the cork tiles and adhesive backing strips from the packaging. Lay the items out on the counter underneath the cabinets.

    • 2

Open the pair of cabinet doors where you would like to mount the cork board tiles. Center two tiles on each door using a tape measure to ensure that there is even spacing around the tiles and the cabinet doors.

    • 3

Mark the corners of the tiles lightly with a pencil. Remove the tiles from the doors. Apply the adhesive backing strips to the back four corners of each tile.

    • 4

Align the tiles with the pencil marked corners on the cabinet doors and press them into place against the doors.

    • 5

Press a few push pins into each tile so that you will have some on hand when adding notes and recipes to the tiles.
