How to Recycle Batteries in Northridge, Ohio

Disposing of waste in the wrong place can cause serious damage to the planet. There are a number of programs that provide recycling services in the Montgomery County area in Ohio. Unfortunately, none are found in the city of Northridge. However, those recycling facilities within seven miles of Northridge: Best Buy, Staples, Grainger and the county recycling facility will take your used batteries and recycle them at no charge.

      Visit Grainger in Dayton, Ohio -- only a mile away from Northridge -- and bring only rechargeable batteries to recycle. The store participates in the Call 2 Recycle program and offers free recycling to customers. Look for the Call 2 Recycle collection kits in the store to deposit used batteries and cell phones. Insert your batteries into the self-adhesive plastic bag and drop it into the box. All rechargeable batteries under 11 pounds are accepted.

      Stop at the South Transfer station -- located a mile way from Northbridge in Dayton on 1001 Encrete Lane -- to deposit both car and portable batteries. Drop-off hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday, except Christmas and New Year's day. The program is available to Montgomery County residents only, so bring a valid form of identification.

      Go to the Staples store -- located in Huber Heights on Old Troy Pike, about six miles from Northridge -- to deposit your old rechargeable batteries. Staples has a contract with the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation.

      Stop at the Best Buy -- located on 1709 North Bechtle Ave. in Springfield, Ohio, only 7 miles away from Northridge -- to drop off rechargeable batteries in the recycling kiosk near the entrance.
