Offer the sand to your friends, neighbors and local child-care centers. Although your children have grown out of the sandbox phase, your friends or neighbors may have young children who would appreciate sand for their sandbox. Child-care centers appreciate opportunities to cut costs. Ask the interested parties to come get the sand.

Reuse the sand in various household projects. Sand is useful for a variety of landscaping, drainage and gardening projects. Shovel the sand into a wheelbarrow and use it where you need it.

Dispose of the sand with your garbage. Garbage trucks usually have a weight limit for trash bags. Ask your waste disposal company about its rules and regulations for placing sand in the garbage. The company will probably tell you to put the sand in small bags.
