Cut a flat, sturdy piece of cardboard to act as the base of the organizer. Determine the size and shape of the base depending on the amount of space available for an organizer to sit on your desk, and how much you'd like the organizer to hold.
Cut an empty cardboard paper towel roll into one piece six inches long and two pieces three inches long. Remove the top of an empty tissue box by cutting around the top with scissors. Create additional areas for holding items by cutting pieces of a cardboard box to the desired length and height.
Decorate each piece of the organizer before continuing with assembly. Wrap the paper towel roll pieces and the tissue box in colored construction paper. Draw colorful designs on the base and on additional cardboard pieces to personalize the appearance of the organizer.
Arrange each item on the cardboard base piece. Set cardboard dividers far enough apart to accommodate items like sticky notes or staplers. Secure the cardboard roll pieces in place by running a line of hot glue around the perimeter of the roll and holding it in place until dry. Use the same process for securing the cardboard dividers and tissue box.
Allow the glue to set for one hour before filling the organizer with office supplies.
