Instructions for a Closetmaid

ClosetMaid products promote organization within the home. If you are remodeling or adding a ClosetMaid product, such as a shelf, a closet organizer kit or a 48-inch wardrobe, ClosetMaid offers instructions to help you do it yourself, making the project more cost-effective. Each ClosetMaid item is sold with its own item number, which corresponds with the instructions for that product. Instructions vary for each item. If you aren't sure about the item number of a ClosetMaid product, you can still find the instructions by using an item description. ClosetMaid has made even the instruction process organized.

Instructions

      Locate the item number on your ClosetMaid product. The item number is also called the product number, and may be listed as the product or part number on your item. The number will vary on different ClosetMaid items.

      Write down the item number, the item description and the dimensions. In order to find the instructions for ClosetMaid items, these three key elements must be obtained from your item, beforehand.

      The information will look similar to the following example:

      5- to 8-foot Closet Organizer

      Part Number: 162800

      Log onto ClosetMaid.com. Click the "My ClosetMaid" tab on the right-hand side. You can search through the ClosetMaid items for your item's installation instructions. You can also enter the description or the part number in the search field in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Download the instructions and print them out. Follow the instructions for your personal ClosetMaid product.

      Visit 2.ClosetMaid.com. Hover your mouse over "Install: Tips and Assistance" on the left-hand column. Click on "Instruction Sheets." Enter your item number or the description of your personal ClosetMaid item, or both into the field and click, "Search." The page will take you to the pages that correspond with your ClosetMaid item. You can then print out the instruction sheets and follow the instructions that correspond with your ClosetMaid item. If you do not see your ClosetMaid item on the list, call ClosetMaid Customer Service at 1-800-874-0008.
