GE XL44 Instructions

Being able to operate your kitchen range properly can be the different between a good and a bad meal, not to mention a safety issue. The General Electric XL44 comes equipped with an oven, hobs, a broiler and runs on gas. You should familiarize yourself with your GE XL44 before using it and everything will come naturally to you after using it a few times. Always take care when working around the hot surfaces of the range.

Instructions

      Turn the knob of the surface burner that you wish to ignite. Press the lighter button on the left hand side of the control panel. The gas in the burner will be lit. If the gas does not light then close the burner to avoid leaking gas. Turn the burner knob to adjust the flame size. If there is a power failure you can light the gas with a match.

      Press the "Clock" pad. Press the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the time. Press the "Clock" pad again to set the time.

      Press the "Timer On/Off" pad. Use the "+" and "-" buttons to adjust the time. Push the "Timer On/Off" pad to start the timer.

      Turn the "Oven Control" knob to the desired temperature and wait for the oven to reach the temperature before putting in food. Once the temperature has been reached the indicator light on top of the range will turn off. Turn the "Oven Control" knob to "Off" to switch off the oven.

      Pull the oven shelf towards you and tilt it up to remove it. To replace it, place it in at a tilt and push it into the shelf tray.

      Place food on a broiling pan in the compartment in the oven. Turn the "Oven Control" knob to "Broil." Turn the knob to "Off" when the food is cooked.
