How to Assemble a Harborside Towel Rod

Bathroom space savers like towel rods help you get more mileage out of small bathrooms. The Harborside towel rod hangs over the back of your bathroom door, so you don't need to drill holes in the wall or worry about leveling the rack. It's all done for you. With a homey image of a lighthouse pelican and ship, this towel rod adds a warm personal touch to your bathroom and gives you a handy place to store towels. Assembly and installation takes a quick minute.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose the right location for your Harborside towel rod. This unit hangs over the door, so you'll need a flat door to attach it to. French or sliding doors into the bathroom will not work. With a width of 21 inches, this rack needs enough space, so bathroom closet doors may not work if they're too narrow.

    • 2

Remove the towel rod from its packaging. It comes already assembled so you don't need to put the towel rod together.

    • 3

Hold the rod so the hooks face up. The ship and lighthouse on the towel rod face should be upright.

    • 4

Hang the towel rod over your door so the rack is centered on the door.

    • 5

Make sure you can still close and open your door with the Harborside towel rod installed. You should be able to close the door firmly and open it again. If the door sticks, find another door that offers more space between the top of the door and the frame and install your rack there.

Hang hand towels on the unit's horizontal wooden bars. While you can hang a bath towel on it, this rack is designed more for hand towels and wash cloths.
