Cute and Fun Ways to Organize Your Room

Dress up your own room or your little girl's palace with adorable, yet stylish additions to make the room stand out. Choose fun colors, designs and patterns that blend well with other decor in the room. Look for decorative and humorous room organization tools or dress up plain shelves with fun designs and colors that pop.
  1. Shelves

    • Paint standard wall shelves to match the cute theme in the room. Pink and purple shelves with glitter paint accents can work well for a little girl's princess or pony-themed room. Baby blue shelves with tiny button tug boats glued around the border make a boy's room stand out. You can also use animal sponge paint to make cute shapes on each shelf. Use buttons and colors to dress your shelves, but select decor and paint that blends well with the overall decor in the room.

    Embellished Shoe Racks

    • Design embellished shoe racks to go on the back of your door and in the closet. Look for plastic hanging shoe racks and glue fake gem stones, Hello Kitty buttons, ribbons or other embellishments on the exterior. These adorable shoe racks go well in a child's bedroom, but you can also create a cute, yet sophisticated shoe rack for your room also. Use flower and heart buttons, silk flowers and charms to dress up the rack according to your style.

    Clothes Pins

    • Use clothes pins to organize cards, letters and hair ties. Hang up thick string or twine wire across the room, but place the string about one foot above your head. Find pink and purple clothes pins to hang up your daughter's favorite cards and hang up a few hair ties and ribbons that she only uses on occasion. Use bright yellow and blue clothes pins or baby blue and white for other room styles. Rainbow clothes pins can also blend well in a colorful room. Look for colored clothes pins or paint plain wooden clothes pins yourself.

    Baskets and Bins

    • Make plain wicker baskets stand out by running pink, purple, blue or yellow ribbons through the grooves and creating a cascade of bows throughout each basket. Place these baskets on shelves and fill them with books, toys, stuffed animals, paper and just about anything. You can also paint wooden bins with pastel or bright colors and then adorn them with kitty cats or puppy dog buttons.
