How to Make a Homemade Stuffed Animal Holder for Kid's Room

A homemade hammock will serve as an attractive and efficient stuffed animal holder for a kid's room. By suspending the hammock from the ceiling of the bedroom, unused space is utilized, keeping valuable floor space clear. The hammock animal holder can be tailored to match the color scheme of the room. By using a colorful re-purposed tablecloth for the hammock, no time-consuming hemming is needed. Find inexpensive used tablecloths at thrift shops and tag sale.

Instructions

    • 1

Create grommet holes in each corner of the tablecloth by cutting a small "X" with the scissors at the hole locations 2 inches from each edge of the tablecloth at the corners.

    • 2

Place one male portion of the grommet maker over one "X" on the right side of the fabric. Place the female portion of the grommet maker over the male portion on the wrong side of the fabric.

    • 3

Place the grommet tool over the female portion and pound it firmly with the hammer. Repeat the last step three more times, creating a grommet hole in each corner.

    • 4

Screw the eye hooks in the bedroom ceiling, positioning the eye hooks at the tablecloth corner positions.

    • 5

Cut four pieces of twine to measure 2 feet each. Thread the twine through the grommet holes and the eye hooks to attach the hammock to the ceiling. Fill the hammock with the stuffed animals.
