Place two evenly spaced mounting brackets onto the back of the anchor. Use flat metal brackets that have two mounting holes. Secure the brackets to the back of the wheel with the screws supplied with the brackets and a screwdriver.
Place the ship wheel against the wall, and mark the holes in the mounting bracket onto the wall. Place the ship wheel off to the side for now.
Drill a hole into the wall with a drill bit that matches the same diameter as the wall anchor you plan to use. Drill the hole ½-inch deeper than the length of the drywall anchor.
Tap the drywall anchors into the wall with a hammer. Stop when the drywall anchors rest flush with the face of the wall.
Place the ship wheel over the anchors, and line up the mounting holes.
Thread the screws supplied with the drywall anchors into the anchors with your fingers, and then tighten them with a screwdriver.
