How to Make an Earring Display That Can Hold Earrings on Cards

A nifty combination display and storage unit for earrings on cards can be fashioned from a vintage leather suitcase. This suitcase will showcase the earrings in style while providing an easy transport medium for art fair jewelry artists. Look for old suitcases at thrift shops and flea markets. Some basic supplies found at a craft store will transform the suitcase into an earring display. The unit can also be used as a decorative item in a bedroom or dressing area.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the suitcase as wide as possible and balance the open suitcase bottom on a flat surface.

    • 2

Measure across the open portion of one side of the suitcase with the ruler and add 1 inch. Cut four strips of ribbon to the measurement.

    • 3

Attach the ribbon strips to the suitcase edges using the glue gun, pulling the ribbon strips taut and evenly spacing the strips to accommodate the height of the earring cards. Repeat the last two steps on the opposite open edge of the suitcase.

    • 4

Attach additional ribbon to the edge of the suitcase opening with the hot glue gun.

    • 5

Attach the earring cards to the ribbon by hanging the earring backs over the ribbon.
