Cute Ways to Display Belts

Do not let decorative belts hide in the back of your closet. Create a display for storing belts in your room until you need them. Cute ideas for displaying belts employ unusual methods for storage. Creative belt displays turn fashion accessories into decorative items in your room.
  1. Ladder

    • A ladder can be used for your belts to reach new decorating heights. Lean a ladder against the wall and drape belts over the rungs. Another way to use a ladder is to stand an a-frame ladder up and insert boards between parallel rungs to create shelves. You can hang belts from the lower rungs, or from hooks inserted into the bottom of the shelves created on the ladder.

    Pegboard

    • Pegboards are not just for organizing a toolshed. You can hang a pegboard on a wall and insert wooden dowels to fit inside the holes. A belt can be draped over each dowel. To hide the pegboard, cover it with paper before inserting the dowels. The wooden dowels will punch through the paper hiding the board. The paper can be matched to the rest of the room's decor, or leave a large section of the paper blank for writing notes or memos. As the paper fills with notes, pull out the dowels, change the paper covering the pegboard and replace the dowels and belts.

    Hooks

    • Bathroom hooks can be used for holding belts up. You can screw the hooks into a piece of board or the wall at the back of a closet. Hang the belts by the buckles on the hooks, arranged by color and style. If you have enough different-colored belts, create a rainbow of colors with the belts on the hooks. Keeping belts of the same color together also makes finding the right belt for an outfit easier.

    Overhead

    • An overhead pot holder from the kitchen can be transformed into a belt holder for your bedroom. You can suspend the pot holder from the ceiling in the bedroom. S-hooks can be hung from the rails in the pot holder and belts can be hung from the hooks. Loop the belts and fasten them at the buckle to shorten them in storage, and to keep them from hitting you on the head if you are tall.
