How to Put Patches Into a Dreambox

Boy Scout or Girl Scout patches are a treasure for the child that earned them. To keep these treasures safe, you can store them in a dreambox. The dreambox can be a fancy wooden container or an old, decorated shoe box. The important part to protecting the patches is how you put them in the dreambox. A little preparation can go a long way toward keeping the patches looking like new.

Instructions

    • 1

Stack the patches in groups of five.

    • 2

Wrap each stack in white tissue paper or muslin. Colored tissue paper or muslin may stain the patches over time. Wrapping each stack with a layer of tissue paper or muslin will protect the patches from light that may make them fade and dust.

    • 3

Place each wrapped stack into the dreambox.

    • 4

Cut the foot from the pantyhose.

    • 5

Put a handful of mothballs into the foot of the pantyhose and tie the open end shut.

    • 6

Tape the mothball sack to the underside of the dreambox. Mothballs will prevent moths from damaging the fabric of the patches.
