DIY Desk Cable Management

If you find yourself wading through a jungle of cords each time you head to your workspace, you may be tempted to cut the cord both literally and figuratively. Don't break out the machete just yet, though; there are simple and inexpensive DIY methods to store the cords to your electronic devices in an organized manner. With the cords hidden and out of the way, you'll be able to enjoy your workspace more, which will hopefully result in increased productivity.

Things You'll Need

  • 3 screws
  • 3 key rings
  • 3 small plastic coat hangers
  • Screwdriver
  • Velcro straps or twist ties
  • Power strip

Instructions

    • 1

      Unplug and detach all of the cords you plan to organize.

      Hook each of your 3 screws to a key ring, and then hook a plastic hanger from each key ring.

      Mark even points beneath the table or desk of your workspace where you plan to place the screws. Secure the screws in place with a screwdriver at each point you marked.

      Run all of the cords in question through the 3 plastic hangers. Plug the cords back into the outlets of a power strip and reattach any other loose ends to the electronic devices.

      Tie back excess cables with velcro or twist ties to hold everything in place.
