Measure your boards and mark them with a pencil. There should be four boards that are 32 inches long and 24 inches high. These boards will form the front, back, top and bottom panels. Measure and mark two boards to be 24 inches long and 24 inches high for the sides.
Cut the boards to size according to the measurements you took in Step 1, using a circular saw.
Place the bottom piece (24 inch by 32 inch) on your working surface. Place wood glue on the edge of the board facing you. Place the front board (24 inch by 32 inch) against the front edge with the glue on. Clamp in place and leave the glue to cure.
Hammer three nails in to support the two pieces of wood. Repeat the process for the back panel (24 inch by 32 inch) and the two side panels (24 inch by 24 inch).
Measure and mark your Styrofoam sheets. You must have pieces for the bottom and top, which measure 32 inches by 24 inches. Use the craft knife to cut the Styrofoam to size. Press the bottom piece down onto the floor of the crate.
Measure and mark on the Styrofoam the side pieces, making allowances for the side, bottom and top Styrofoam width as well as the width of the lumber. Cut a front and back piece and two side pieces. Press them into the crate so they fit snugly.
Package your chandelier in bubble wrap. Remove crystal pieces and light bulbs, and package those separately. Place the chandelier inside the crate. Place in the top piece of Styrofoam and gently nail the lid of the crate on.
