Find wall space such as under cupboards or near countertop appliances that is not near a heavy traffic area of your kitchen.
Purchase a set of mug and cup hooks or a mug wall rack from a home goods or kitchen-supply store. If installing individual hooks, you can choose the number of hooks to install and the desired design. A premade mug wall rack is already shaped in a design, and typically holds 10 to 12 coffee mugs.
Follow the manufacturer’s directions on how to mount the hooks or rack. This typically requires drilling holes one-half the diameter of the screws attached to the individual hooks and 6 inches apart to prevent mugs from clanking against each other. Twist the individual hooks into the wall so the hook faces upward. If mounting a mug rack, place the rack against the wall and drill three to four screws into the rack to hold it in place on the wall.
Hang the handles of your coffee cups on the hooks or mug rack pegs.
