Scrapbook Room Ideas for Rubber Stamp Storage

Keeping rubber stamps organized preserves their life and the quality of the stamp. Additionally, having your scrapbooking supplies well-ordered and at your fingertips makes for a more enjoyable craft session and easier clean up. Organizing rubber stamps is not hard, and the right system will make keeping up with it a breeze.
  1. Storage Bins

    • Shallow plastic storage bins make for a convenient rubber stamp storage system. Divide your stamps by subject or alphabetically depending on your preference. Sort them into the bins and line them in neat rows. Cover the bin and label the front so you can easily see the category of stamps that are in it. With clear bins, you can look from underneath before opening it just to see where the stamp you want resides. Stackable bins of the same size can be lined up on a shelf, desk or floor next to your workspace.

    Drawers

    • Shallow plastic drawer storage systems are well-suited to house a large collection of rubber stamps. They’re lightweight, so if you get one on wheels you can roll it out of a closet or from under a table whenever necessary, and store it away when you’re done with it. Make a schematics drawing and laminate it. Keep it inside the drawer on top of the stamps. Just like some boxes of assorted chocolates have a schematics design on the inside of the cover showing you where each flavor is, your drawing can show you exactly where each stamp is. That will also help you remember where to put it when you return it to the drawer, so it's always in the same place.

    Binders

    • Unmounted rubber stamps can save space. Large three-ring binders are ideal for not only keeping them organized at home, but for grabbing them when you want to go to a crop. Slide the unmounted stamps into clear acrylic page protectors, and insert the page protectors into the binder. Line the binders up on a bookshelf and label the spine of the binder with the stamps you keep inside.

    Pill Boxes

    • Not all rubber stamps are large. Some of the smaller stamps, such as alphabets, numbers and border embellishments, can be less than a square inch in size. These can be particularly troublesome to keep track of. The solution is to arrange them in pill-box organizers. Pill-box organizers have compartments, sometimes up to 31. This keeps miniature stamps protected, as well as in order so you don't have to rummage for the right one.
