Cut a piece of fabric, 50 inches long.
Pin back 1/2 inch of the fabric on all four sides. Place the pins approximately 2 inches apart.
Sew a hem, sewing 1/4 of an inch along the sides. Remove the pins as you sew, being careful to remove them before the needle reaches them.
Place a 34-inch strip of hook and loop fastener -- the loop side -- on the back of the fabric, along the top. Sew it in place, sewing a line along the top and bottom of the strip.
Place another 34-inch strip of hook and loop fastener -- the hook side -- 10 inches below the first strip and attach it in the same manner.
Cut four pieces of fabric, 9 inches long.
Hem each of the pieces just as you hemmed the large piece, pinning the sides back 1/2 inch and sewing 1/4 inch away from the edge.
Place one of the small pieces on the large piece, at the bottom so that it covers the lower 8 inches of the back piece. Pin it in place, with pins on the bottom and sides -- spaced 2 inches apart.
Sew the pieces together on the pinned sides, removing the pins as you go, with a zig zag stitch, 1/4 inch from the edge. This creates a wide pocket.
Place another one of the small pieces of fabric, 2 inches above the one that you have attached. Attach it in the same fashion and attach the third, 2 inches above the second and the fourth 2 inches above the third. This gives you four wide pockets capable of holding T shirts and other larger items.
Subdivide the pockets to make spaces for your shoes. You can make all the pockets into shoe pockets or only some. Simply stitch down the front of the pocket with the zig zag stitch to divide the pockets, making them 4 inches wide for shoes.
Hang your shoe wardrobe in your closet by placing the top over the clothes rail and fastening the hook and loop fasteners together. Place your shoes and other belongings into the pockets.
