The beauty of a leather couch can be spoiled by one single wad of chewing gum. The good news is that removing the gum can be a snap with some good old-fashioned elbow grease and a bit of patience. As with any cleaning situation, test a small hidden area first, before saturating the gum, to ensure that the leather will not be stained. This method also has a faint, pleasant scent that won't last long.

Instructions
1
Clean leather in different ways from other upholsteries.
Saturate an area of a paper towel with olive oil or peanut oil.
2
Apply the oil-soaked paper towel area to the gum spot. Press and hold gently. Rub the gum spot in a circular motion.
3
Soak the oil on the gum for a few minutes. Rub again.
4
Wipe the gum spot with a dry, clean paper towel. The gum should wipe off smoothly. If only portions of the gum wipe off, repeat all the steps with a clean paper towel until the gum spot is gone.
