How to Clean Fake Leather

Durable and resistant to daily abuses from people and pets, fake leather is becoming more popular. Today's fake leather are of high qualities and can match the performance of real leather. Besides being cruelty-free and cheaper than real leather, fake leather also has the advantage of being much easier to clean, with some materials being stain resistant.

  • Feather duster (optional)
  • Paper towel (optional)
  • Soft cloth
  • Mild soap
  • Water
  • Mild cleaning solvent or rubbing alcohol
  • Bleach (optional)
  • Hair dryer (optional)

Instructions

      Soak up any spills immediately using a dry paper towel or cloth to prevent stains.

      Wipe any dust off the leather using a feather duster or a soft cloth regularly.

      Dip a cloth in water and use it to wipe the fake leather clean.

      Mix one part mild soap such as dish-washing liquid to five parts water. Dip a soft cloth in the solution, and dab it on stains such as coffee, tea, wine, ketchup or makeup.

      Use mild cleaning solvent or rubbing alcohol to clean greasy stains that remain after being cleaned with a soapy solution.

      Mix one part bleach to five parts water. Dip a soft cloth in the solution, and use it to disinfect the fake leather if necessary.

      Let the fake leather air dry or use a hair dryer on a warm setting for quicker drying.
