Couch Upholstery Cleaning

The couch is one of the most used pieces of furniture in the home and it typically takes lots of wear and tear. Cleaning the couch's upholstery is a must to maintain the integrity of the piece. Instructions

    • 1

Fill the spray bottle with liquid upholstery cleaning solution and liberally spray any noticeable stains. Allow the solution to sit for about 15 minutes.

    • 2

Follow manufacturer's instructions to fill the spot cleaning machine for normal stains. However, if you have a heavily soiled couch, mix one part solution to one part water. Shampoo the total surface of the couch with the upholstery attachment, including cushions and dust ruffles. Move the wand with the weave of the upholstery. The unit should shampoo and vacuum the liquid simultaneously.

    • 3

Vacuum the surface of the couch a second time using the upholstery wand, but this time, do not spray any liquid. This will remove any remaining excess liquid.

    • 4

Allow the couch to air dry using a freestanding fan. Keeping the air flow constant will dry the surface more quickly and discourage the development of mildew.
