How to Clean a Pool Table Surface

A pool table is an expensive investment, so it is important to care for it properly. While it is inevitable that the felt that covers your pool table will wear over time, routine cleaning and proper precautions can prolong its life and help your pool table maintain its beauty. After cleaning and when the pool table is not in use, you should always protect the surface with a cover. This will keep dirt and dust off of the felt.

Brush the felt with a pool table brush. Start from the center and use a sweeping motion to move the brush toward the edges. Once the center is clear, start at one of the pockets and brush the sides, working your way around the pool table.

Use the hose attachment on your vacuum cleaner to deep clean the felt. Move the hose from the center of the pool table, moving it in a straight line as you vacuum out toward the edge of the table.

Spray the wooden edges of the pool table with furniture polish and use a soft cloth to buff it to a shine. This gets rid of the dirt and dust and also keeps the wood looking its best.
