How to Clean an Obus Egg Crate Mattress Topper

An Obus egg crate mattress topper is a foam mattress pad that helps your body stay in a comfortable sleeping position by adjusting to your curves instead of you adjusting to the mattress. This mattress pad is made of memory foam, a special foam that responds to your body heat to mold itself to fit you exactly. Originally NASA developed it for astronauts, but it is now available for home use. The only problem with an Obus egg crate mattress pad is keeping it clean as it cannot be washed or dry cleaned.

Things You'll Need

• 4 cups warm water
• 1/4 cup baking soda
• 1 tsp lemon juice
• Spray bottle
• Vacuum

     Vacuum any dust, hair or debris from the surface of the Obus mattress topper using the furniture attachment of your vacuum cleaner.

     Add the water, baking soda and lemon juice to the spray bottle, and shake it until the ingredients are combined.

     Spray the Obus egg crate mattress topper with the mixture, covering the entire top of the mattress.

     Lay the mattress pad outside in the sun, hanging over a balcony or on some lawn furniture, for three to four hours until it is dry.
