Scrape away any chocolate on the surface of the upholstery, using the edge of the metal spoon. Leave only chocolate that has soaked into the fabric.
Measure 1/2 cup of warm water into the bowl. Add 2 tsps. of liquid detergent to the warm water, agitating the liquid to mix the detergent into the water.
Saturate the sponge in the cleaning mixture. Dab the mixture onto the affected area of the upholstery, using the sponge.
Allow the mixture to sit for two to five minutes.
Blot the area dry with paper towels, pressing lightly and quickly onto the wet upholstery.
Measure 1 cup of warm water into a second bowl and add 2 tbsps. of ammonia.
Dip a clean sponge into the water and ammonia mixture, then dab the affected area of the couch fabric.
Allow the mixture to sit for five to 10 minutes. Blot the area dry with paper towels, pressing lightly and quickly onto the wet upholstery.
Repeat steps 5 to 11 as necessary until the stain has been completely lifted.
