A lint brush is a simple way to remove cat hair and dog hair from fabric and upholstered surfaces in your home. This includes furniture and clothing. The small brush is covered in a velvet-type material that picks up the pet hair. The material traps the hair, keeping it attached to the brush, until you pull off the hair later. Lint brushes are sometimes referred to as pet hair brushes or pet brushes.
A pet hair roller or lint roller is an effective device for removing cat hair from nearly any type of surface. The handle of the roller fits comfortably in your hand, while the roller itself, slides easily across most surfaces. The roller is coated in a sticky substance, similar to tape, that picks up the hair. Cheaper lint rollers contain sheets, which you pull off once coated with the hair. The more expensive type cleans off when rinsed under water, and it's reusable.
Rubber gloves are a home remedy for removing cat hair. Look for textured rubber gloves or those with raised edges along the palm and fingers. Rinse the gloves under cool water, and while still slightly damp, run the gloves across the pet hair coated surface. This picks up the hair quickly.
If you can't find a lint roller or pet hair roller, then use duct tape, masking tape or packing tape. Cut off a length of the tape and wrap it around your hand, with the sticky side facing out. Pat the tape over the counter or furniture to pick up the cat hair. Throw the tape away when finished.
Vacuum cleaners may include an attachment specifically designed for removing pet hair. Some manufacturers also make a separate attachment that connects to your vacuum cleaner and picks up the hair. The rollers of the attachment are specifically designed to pick up both smaller and longer hairs from pets, without forcing the dander into the air.
