How to Clean a Micro Suede Sofa

Microsuede sofas provide the luxurious look and feel of natural suede without the extra cost and maintenance. Woven from millions of small polyester fibers, microsuede can stand up to most cleaning methods. Vacuuming, damp-cleaning and steaming will not harm the color or texture of the sofa. Clean your microsuede sofa a few times a year, and vacuum it regularly to remove dirt, dust and pet hair.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any cushions or pillows from the microsuede sofa. Pull the sofa away from the wall if necessary.

    • 2

Vacuum the microsuede sofa and cushions with a brush attachment or portable vacuum. Start at the top of the sofa, and work your way down to the bottom.

    • 3

Wipe the microsuede sofa with a damp sponge and 2 or 3 drops of dish soap, or use upholstery cleaner according to the package directions. Scrub away any spots or stains with the sponge.

    • 4

Rinse the sponge in clean water, and wipe away any soap or cleaner residue.

    • 5

Dab the microsuede sofa with an absorbent towel to soak up any excess liquid. Allow the sofa and cushions to dry before reassembling the furniture.
