Place a small amount of liquid wood wax on the cotton rag. Use just enough to cover the surface of the furniture. Move the rag in a circular motion over the surface of the wood, against the grain.
Leave the wax on the surface of the wood for a minimum of ten minutes and a maximum of an hour. This gives the wax time to permeate the wood. Check the directions on the product for recommended timing. Do not rush. You can do other tasks while the wood soaks up the wax.
Apply a second coat by following Steps 1 and 2, again. Cover all areas sparingly and evenly. Let this coat remain in place for an hour. Buff the surface with a soft buffing cloth, until you are happy with the results. Leave the wood alone, overnight, then do a final buffing in the morning.
