Vacuum Sealer Ideas

A vacuum sealer is handy for more than just preserving food. Use your vacuum sealer to store small items of any type. Not only does vacuum sealing prevent little items from becoming lost, it also allows you to see how many of an item you have. Look for bags in various sizes and put your sealer to work all over your home.
  1. Craft Supplies

    • Use the vacuum sealer to contain supplies like beads, eyelets and buttons. You will be able to see through the bag to check on color or quantity, but you won't lose your smallest crafting essentials. If you have a lot of yarn or fiber, sort and seal in vacuum bags and free up a lot of storage space in your craft closet.

    Winter Accessories

    • Store your cold weather wear in vacuum-sealed bags to neatly store your accessories and keep them clean and dust free. Use small bags to hold pairs of mittens or hats and larger ones for scarves and sweaters. Your winter items will fluff back into shape once you open the bag the following year.

    Moving Preparation

    • Use your vacuum sealer to help you pack your home. Every time you disassemble a piece of furniture, place all of the hardware and a sketch or photo of the item in a bag and vacuum seal. Tape the bag to the underside of the item. You will easily locate all of the little hardware bits when you unpack and attempt to rebuild the furniture.
