Sprinkle the wet area of the mattress with a thin layer of baking soda Rub the baking soda with a dry sponge to work it into the mattress fabric. Leave the baking soda on the mattress for eight hours to help prevent mold growth.
Run a vacuum over the mattress to remove the baking soda.
Take the mattress outside and set it in a sunny spot. Leave it outside the entire day.
Plug an oscillating portable fan into an extension cord and bring the fan outside to the mattress. Set the mattress on its side, aim the fan at the wet area of the mattress and turn it on high. Leave the fan blowing on the mattress the entire day until the mattress is dry. Use the fan on the mattress indoors if weather conditions do not permit it to be placed outside.
