How to Care for Deco Wood

Deco wood is a powder-coated substrate decorated with a high-quality digital image of wood grain. The wood, manufactured by Decorative Imaging, allows homeowners to add the look of real wood without the wear and tear issues that wood finishes have. You don't need to worry about fading, cracking, premature aging or restaining Deco wood. The company offers a 10-year warranty on the finish, making it a good choice for sunlit areas such as windows, shutters or outdoor furniture.

Instructions

    • 1

Wash the Deco wood with a scrub brush, mild detergent and warm water. You should wash it every six months in a mild climate, every three months in a moderate climate and monthly in an extreme climate.

    • 2

Buff out mild scratches with a lint-free cloth and a mild abrasive buffing compound. When the scratch is buffed out, follow up with a soft cloth and Deco polish to restore the shine.

    • 3

Fill in deeper scratches with Deco touch-up paint that matches the color finish of your Deco wood. Use a small brush to fill in the scratch. Let it dry thoroughly before using that area of the surface.
