How to Protect Frosted Glass From Scratching

Frosted glass creates an elegant look wherever it is used, taking a regular glass piece from ho-hum to outstanding. Frosted glass such as that on tables or windows needs special care that is different from care of regular glass.

Instructions

    • 1

Dust your frosted glass frequently with a soft, dry cloth. A soft cloth is ideal for frosted glass because other types of rougher materials can scratch the frosted glass. Avoid using glass cleaner on the frosted side of the glass as this can also scratch or remove the frost.

    • 2

Avoid setting hot items on frosted glass. According to DJC Furniture and Bedding, frosted glass can be weakened or shattered when thermal or mechanical stress is put on it. Avoid putting hot items such as drinks on your frosted glass altogether or use a mat or coasters if need be.

    • 3

Avoid cutting or chopping on any frosted glass surface. This can easily cause scratches and imperfections that are not able to be easily repaired. Any sharp object should be kept away from your frosted glass.
