How to Clean Micro Suede Polyester

Microsuede is a manmade, spun fabric normally made from a combination of nylon and polyester. While suede is a type of leather with a brushed finish, the "suede" part of microsuede refers to the fact that this fabric also has a napped or brushed finish. Cleaning a microsuede fabric is fairly straightforward, but it is important to have the appropriate cleaning products.

Instructions

    • 1

Spray all stains with your microfiber cleaner. Read the directions on the bottle before use. Hold the bottle around 10 inches above the stain and make sure you completely cover it with the cleaning solution.

    • 2

Use a damp sponge to rub the solution into the stains. Use a circular movement until the stains come out.

    • 3

Leave the microsuede polyester fabric to dry.

    • 4

Brush areas that were stained, using a soft-bristled brush in gentle movements. A clean, soft toothbrush is ideal.

    • 5

Machine wash microsuede polyester towels, throws and blankets on a cold cycle suitable for delicate fabrics. Use a mild laundry detergent. You may machine dry your microsuede on a gentle cycle, or else hang it to dry either indoors or outdoors.
