Keep your couch in a place that doesn't get exposed to direct sunlight. It should also be positioned in a spot that is away from heaters and other heated appliances. Microfiber is sensitive to heat and can become damaged and warped when exposed to high temperatures.
Soak up spills from the couch promptly with paper towels. Because microfiber is stain-resistant, liquid will bead up on the fabric rather than soaking in. If the spill is left unattended, however, it will eventually dry onto the couch and leave a spot.
Vacuum your microfiber couch at least once a week using a soft brush attachment. This will keep the fibers soft and ensure no dirt or grit gets pushed down into the fabric.
Remove stains and clean your microfiber couch as needed with a solution of warm water and a few drops of clear mild dish soap. Use a rag dampened with the soapy water to lightly wipe the couch, then let it air-dry thoroughly.
Brush your couch with a fine-toothed comb occasionally, running the comb in the direction of the nap, to restore the softness to the fabric. If microfiber gets wet, it can sometimes become stiff.
Apply a microfiber fabric protectant to the couch after each cleaning. This will help to protect the fabric in the future. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for using the product. Make sure the couch is completely dry before applying the fabric protectant, and let the product dry completely before using the couch.
