How to Clean Durahide With Microfiber

Featuring the look and feel of true leather, Durahide is an economical option to expensive leather furniture. Both real and fake leather are durable and will last for years with the proper care and cleaning. However, certain cleaning chemicals and tools can damage the Durahide. Abrasive cloths will leave unsightly scratches on the faux leather. Instead, use a neutral cleaner and microfiber cloth to keep the Durahide leather looking its best.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach the upholstery brush to the vacuum hose and remove surface debris off the Durahide leather.

    • 2

Mix 1 gallon of warm water with 1/4 cup of clear liquid dish soap and stir with a spoon. Dampen a microfiber cloth in the soapy mixture.

    • 3

Wipe the Durahide leather clean with the damp cloth. Begin at the top of the leather and work your way down until you have thoroughly cleaned the faux leather.

    • 4

Fill a bucket with 1/2 gallon of lukewarm water. Saturate a clean, microfiber cloth in the water and wring out the excess liquid.

    • 5

Rinse the soapy mixture off the Durahide with the damp cloth. Do not allow the mixture to dry on the leather. Doing so could leave stains on the material. Buff the Durahide leather dry with a microfiber cloth.

    • 6

Wipe the Durahide leather every few days with a microfiber cloth to remove surface dirt, dust and debris. This will help keep the faux leather looking its best.
