How to Get Pen Off of Cream Leather

Leather is an investment that any owner would like to keep looking like brand new for many years to come. However, accidents happen and sometimes your leather is soiled by things like pen ink. These accidents can be especially aggravating when you have cream-colored leather, which will make any markings seem all that much worse due to the contrasting colors. However, if you have a few simple household items, you can take steps in repairing your leather in no time.

Instructions

    • 1

Fill a small bowl with a drop of soap and 1 cup of warm water.

    • 2

Saturate a small portion of your washcloth with the soapy water. You don't need to soak the entire washcloth.

    • 3

Dab at the ink spot gently.

    • 4

Dry the cleaned leather with your washcloth, using a dry area of the cloth.

    • 5

Dip a cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol.

    • 6

Rub at the ink stain gently. Make sure you are constantly turning the cotton swab -- and replacing the used cotton swabs -- so you are always rubbing a clean portion of the swab on the stain.

    • 7

Continue until all of the ink has been removed.
