What is Meguiar's Cleaner Wax?

Meguiar's, Inc. is a family-owned business that first specialized in only furniture polishing. Since the company opened in 1901, the Meguiar's product has evolved to include wax and cleaner. As of 2011, Meguiar's produces more than 300 different waxes, polishers, cleaners and conditioners for a variety of surfaces for the home, vehicles and machinery. Meguiar's Cleaner Wax not only protects and cleans a vehicle from harmful chemicals and corrosives, it claims to restore the shine and luster throughout use.
  1. Use

    • The purpose of Meguiar's Cleaner Wax is to clean light stains immediately and continue cleaning the surface of the vehicle over time. It also restores a shine to the vehicle by applying the thin coat of wax and oils that condition the surface of the vehicle. It removes slight oxidation due to exposure to oxygen and the elements. Silicone and polymers help to prevent further damage caused by chemicals or corrosives.

    Preparation

    • Clean the outside of your vehicle thoroughly before applying Meguiar's Cleaner Wax. Although the cleaner wax will penetrate stains, remove any mud or dirt that might reduce its effectiveness. Use a warm bucket of water and vehicle soap and apply it using a sponge or cloth. Rinse the soap off the vehicle and allow it to dry completely. Park the vehicle beneath a shade tree, carport or garage before applying the cleaner wax.

    Application

    • Squeeze a small amount onto a wax applicator pad. Rub the wax across the painted surfaces of the vehicle, making sure to maintain a smooth, even coat. Apply the wax in small sections for the easiest application method. Allow the wax to dry and remove it using a clean microfiber cloth. Reapply the wax any time the vehicle begins to lose luster or shine. Reapplication will depend on how often the vehicle is driven, how it is stored and its exposure to the elements, chemicals and other corrosives.

    Buffing

    • You may buff Meguiar's Cleaning Wax to further clean and polish the vehicle instead of wiping it onto the surface with the applicator pad. Apply the wax to a buffer pad of a handheld, rotary or orbital buffer to create a deeper shine. Wipe any remaining wax off the vehicle using a clean cloth once the wax completely dries.
