How to Clean a Microfiber Couch Damaged by Smoke

Microfiber, a soft, stain-resistant, synthetic fabric, is often used for sofa upholstery. If your microfiber couch becomes damaged or stained by smoke, you can clean it with a homemade solution that will remove the odor and residue. Instructions

      Vacuum the couch thoroughly with a brush attachment. Remember to vacuum the bottom of the cushions if they're removable.

      Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar. Mist the smoke stains with a light layer of vinegar, and allow it to sit for 10 minutes.

      Fill a container with 2 cups of warm water, and add 2 or 3 drops of dish detergent.

      Dip a soft brush, sponge, or cloth into the solution, and wipe the stained areas of the couch to remove the smoke stains.

      Dampen a clean cloth with water, and wring it out. Blot the couch to remove any cleaning residue.
