How to Get Rid of Blotches on Wood Stain

Discoloration of wood furniture happens for a variety of reasons. White or light colored blotches are caused by moisture. Setting a drinking glass on a wood table is a common cause of these water marks. Darker blotches within the stain are caused by oils in the wood that effect the color of wood stain. Treatment for each differs depends on the discoloration you are experiencing. The spot treatment works without having to strip and restain the entire piece.
