How to Clean Nylon Sofas

Microfiber fabric may contain a variety of synthetic textiles including nylon. Nylon microfiber has the benefit of feeling soft and luxurious while remaining stain-resistant and beautiful for years. Some furniture manufacturers choose nylon microfiber to cover pieces because the properties of microfiber make it durable and attractive. Clean nylon sofas to remove stains and spots as they occur.

  • Cleaning cloth
  • Dry cloth
  • Suede brush (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spot Treatment

    • 1

      Spray the spot treatment onto the surface of the nylon sofa to remove stains and soiling as they occur. Rub the area gently with a cleaning cloth to clean the nylon fabric.

      Rinse the cleaning cloth to remove the cleaner. Dab at the nylon fabric on the sofa to remove the cleaning solution from the fabric. Continue rinsing away the cleaning solution with the cloth until you remove it completely.

      Dry the nylon sofa fabric with a dry cloth to remove moisture.

      Lightly brush dried fabric with a suede brush to restore the nap of the fabric.

    Washing Machine

      Unzip or unfasten the nylon cover from the sofa and remove it.

      Place the nylon fabric cover into the washing machine and add an appropriate amount of laundry detergent. Wash the sofa cover in warm water.

      Remove the nylon fabric cover from the washing machine and check the fabric to ensure stains disappeared in the wash cycle. Repeat the wash cycle a second time if stains remain. If the appears clean, put it in the dryer on low heat until it dries. To prevent wrinkling, remove the fabric cover promptly when the dryer finishes.

      Place the fabric cover back onto the sofa and zip it closed again.
