How to Glue Door Stops to Kitchen Cabinet Doors

The noise of a cabinet door slamming ruins the peacefulness of a quiet morning or evening. The cabinet amplifies the sound, making the hitting of the wood surfaces seem much louder. If you take the time to install door stops to your cabinet doors, the sound will drop to a slight muffled noise. The stops keep the cabinet door from hitting the base of the cabinet, thereby eliminating the sound.

Instructions

    • 1

Clean the inside of the cabinet door along the edge where you will glue the cabinet stops. Use a little rubbing alcohol on a paper towel to remove any grease or soil.

    • 2

Look at the inside of your cabinet door to see where it hits the base of the cabinet first. Although ideally the door should hit the cabinet base flatly, doors often warp slightly over time.

    • 3

Mark the spot on the inside of the cabinet door using a pencil. You can erase this mark afterward if the doorstop does not cover it completely.

    • 4

Peel the paper from the back of the stop. Press the soft stop in place on the inside edge of your cabinet door. Press it firmly for 30 seconds.
