Determine whether your microfiber couch tolerates solvent by checking the tag or owner's manual. If you see the code "S" or "S/W," alcohol is suitable for the microfiber. If you see "W" or "X," don't use rubbing alcohol on the couch.
Pat liquid stains with paper towels as soon as they occur on the couch. Don't rub the stain with the towel; this can cause it to spread. Vacuum the couch to remove any food particles.
Apply rubbing alcohol to a towel. Blot the rubbing alcohol on an inconspicuous spot on the couch. If the fabric doesn't react to the alcohol, it's safe to use as a cleaner. If the fabric changes colors or textures, don't use rubbing alcohol as a cleaner.
Sprinkle a few drops of rubbing alcohol on the stain and scrub with a soft toothbrush to rub the alcohol into the stain. As you scrub the fabric, the stain starts to fade.
Allow the couch to dry. If the microfiber feels stiff, rub the toothbrush over the stiff area a few times to make it soft again.
