Remove all clothes from the dresser and wash them thoroughly. Chances are good that any mice that have visited your dresser have left urine droppings, which attract other mice. Washing your clothes should help get the smell out.

    • 2

Wash the inside of the dresser with water and a mild detergent, especially the drawers. This well help get rid of urine and feces smells that could attract future mice.

    • 3

Soak some cotton balls in peppermint oil and place them around the inside of your dresser. Peppermint keeps mice away with its strong scent and methanol content and also works with insects like ants and roaches. Replace the balls with freshly dampened ones every few days. Use 100 percent peppermint oil and not peppermint oil extract, which is not as strong.

Seal up any holes in the dresser or dresser drawers. Mice can squeeze through holes less than a half-inch in diameter. Use strong putty to clog up holes or board them up with wood and nails. Sealing off entryways is the best way to keep mice from getting inside.
