How to Get Doberman Fur Off of the Furniture

You treat your doberman just like a member of the family, and that includes letting it sleep on your chairs and couch. Unlike people, though, dogs have plenty of fur to shed, and you often find your furniture coated in hair. Antistatic spray removes the dog hair that clings to your furniture. If you prefer to avoid chemicals, a wet sponge, a vacuum cleaner or a lint brush has the same effect.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Apply an antistatic spray to your furniture according to the directions on the package. Run a rubber glove across the surface of the furniture to collect the hair.

    • 2

Rub a lint brush or a pet hair roller over the hairy furniture. Hair clings to these products very easily.

    • 3

Wrap a piece of duct tape or other very sticky tape around your hand with the adhesive side facing out. Wipe the furniture with the tape to pick up the hair.

    • 4

Turn a vacuum cleaner on its lowest setting. Use the vacuum's hose attachment to sweep up hair on the furniture. Some hose attachments have a brush on the end that makes the job even easier.

    • 5

Run a sheet of fabric softener over the furniture to collect dog hair. Discard the sheet and use a new one when it stops picking up the hair.
