How to Deodorize a Microfiber Couch

Microfiber couches are durable pieces of furniture that offer comfort as well as fabric that is easy to clean. Even though microfiber is resistant to spills and stains, it can absorb odors. Common odors that you may find on a microfiber couch include pet smells, smoke and pungent food odors. Remove unpleasant smells from your microfiber couch by using a simple cleaning method that involves a gentle, nontoxic odor-neutralizing product.

Instructions

    • 1

Mix 1 cup each of white vinegar and water in a container.

    • 2

Dip a cleaning sponge into the container, and wring it out to get rid of the excess moisture.

    • 3

Sponge the couch with the vinegar and water solution.

    • 4

Blot the couch dry with a white towel.

    • 5

Tuck a few fabric sheets under the cushions of the couch to add a fresh scent. Do this after the couch is dry. Replace the sheets as necessary when they lose their scent; the scent should last about a week.
