How to Get Dog Hair off of a Suede Couch

Knowing the right way to remove dog hair from a suede couch keeps it clean and ready for use. Suede couches are like magnets for dog hair. The oil on their hair sticks to the nappy fabric. Prevention is key to keeping the suede clean. Long-haired dogs should not be allowed onto the couch to keep off large amounts of hair to collect. Even with complete pet removal from the couch, some hair will collect from the air in the room.

Instructions

Vacuum the couch. Use a brush attachment on a vacuum to remove as much of the hair as possible along with daily dirt and debris.

    • 2

Run a suede brush over the couch. This special brush is available where leather goods are sold. The special brush is designed to remove all debris from the fabric. This will remove the majority of the dog hair from the couch.

    • 3

Wrap a piece of wide, clear tape around three fingers on one hand with the sticky side out. Run the tape over the couch to collect any dog hair left behind by the previous actions.
