Lift the edge of the wax spill carefully with a blunt knife. If the wax is still soft, wrap an ice cube in a cloth and apply it directly to the wax to harden it. Lift (don't scrape) as much of the wax as you can.
Fold a paper towel in fourths and lay it over the wax spill. Place a warm iron over the paper towel (with the steam feature off) and move it in small circles for approximately 10 seconds. The wax should transfer to the paper towel. Use a clean paper towel for each application and continue until you have removed as much wax as possible. You will know you cannot get any more when the wax stops transferring.
Moisten a clean, white cloth with a dry cleaning solvent and blot the stain left behind. Do not rub the stain to avoid grinding it further into the fiber. Allow the solvent to dry and reapply as needed.
Once the stain is gone, rub the area gently with a dry terrycloth towel to restore the nap.
